Breakfast is served between 0800 and 0900 and guests are welcome to use the dining room, terrace and garden throughout the day.

Allergies

We are happy to be able to offer meat-free sausages and gluten-free alternatives (sausages, bread, cereal) for breakfast. We can also provide dairy free products on request.

If you have any special dietary needs, please inform us when you book.

Access statement

Tregarth House is situated on a sloping site and the gardens and house reflect this. There are no steps from the sloping car park into the house but from the outer hall, there are two steps down into the main hallway via an opening that is 73 cm wide. There are no further steps between the main hallway, the ground floor bedroom (Garden Room) and the dining room which, once inside, are all on one level. The other two guest rooms are on the first floor.

Egress from the Garden Room onto the terrace is via one steep step through a doorway that is 62 cm wide.

There is a steep drop from the terrace down into the garden itself and comprises on one side of the garden three steps down onto a sloping gravel path and on the other, five steep steps take you down to the lawn.

Why choose us?

None of our three guest bedrooms share an internal wall with another so privacy is maximised, and each is individually designed and decorated for our guest’s comfort and enjoyment. Our location provides easy access to the cinema, pubs and local eateries which include Frankie & Benny’s; Costa; Subway; Weatherspoons; various pubs, local cafes and Prezzo. Leave your car in our car park and it’s a short two minute walk into town for an evening meal or to watch a good film at the cinema.

Guests are welcome to use the dining room in the evening if a simple take-away is what you prefer, although we do ask that as a courtesy to other guests, meals are finished by 10 pm. Plates, cutlery and glasses are provided so relax and enjoy.

How to find us

By car – from the A30, we are a 20-minute drive off the A30 at the St. Austell / Eden Project junction. Follow signs for the Eden Project, until you get to a roundabout. Go straight on (rather than left for the Eden Project). This is Bodmin Road. Continue for c. 3 miles. We are a white house on the right of the road, just before you reach the town centre, opposite a row of terraced houses on your left. Most people drive past, turn around in the Priory car park, and see us immediately on the right upon exiting the car park.

From Truro, follow signs to Wheal Martyn / China Clay Museum. This will take you round a steeply increasing bend on a hill. You will see Priory car park on the right and a church. We are the next large white house on the left, with a large driveway.

By train – we are a 10-minute walk from St. Austell train station. Follow signs for the town centre. You will walk along a pedestrianised high street (Fore Street), with Clarks, Dorothy Perkins, The Works, Boots, WH Smith etc. At the end of this street, turn right and follow the pavement along the road. You will pass Priory car park on your right, crossing over the entrance to the car park with a church in front of you. Past the church you will have a short row of terraced houses on your right. We are opposite these – a large white house with a large driveway.

We do not usually charge a deposit and cancellations are free up until 7 days before the start of your stay. Cancellations after this time will be charged at a rate equivalent to your first nights stay.

Payments can be made via Debit or Credit card or by cash.
